In energy storage, we are researching both thermal and electrochemical technologies:
-
For sensible thermal energy storage, we develop innovative storage vessels and concepts as well as charging systems. Additionally,
we work on new, highly efficient insulation materials.
-
In the domain of heat and cold storage with phase change and sorption materials, we dedicate ourselves to developing and refining custom
storage materials and components and the integration of thermal energy storage into complex energy systems. We investigate storage materials
and systems for heating/cooling applications, efficiency in household appliances, industrial waste heat utilisation, as well as automotive
applications.
-
Regarding electrochemical energy storage, our focus lies on the development and characterisation of novel materials as well as on system
analysis and simulation of PEM electrolysers and redox flow batteries.
